Named an RSL International Writer
The Royal Society of Literature has named Helon Habila one of its 2025 International Writers, a lifelong honour.
Helon Habila is one of twelve writers named RSL International Writers in 2025 by the Royal Society of Literature, the UK’s charity for the advancement of literature.
The lifelong honour recognises the contribution of writers around the world to literature in English. The writers selected in 2025 are Ahmad Almallah, Merlie M. Alunan, Hoda Barakat, Dionne Brand, Dave Eggers, Nona Fernández, Helon Habila, László Krasznahorkai, Earl Lovelace, Ruth Ozeki, Safiya Sinclair and Eliot Weinberger.
